As someone who previously rejected all forms of technology, ecspecially in the creation of art, I want to use this first project to discover the ways in which AI can enhance my traditional painting practice and architectural investigations. I think AI is useful in the creative brainstorming part of art more than utilizing technical skills. I dont feel that these AI softwares have developed enough to allow the artist to freely make design choices and artistic decisions like they can with paint, photoshop, pencil, etc. I think it is useful in seeing your thoughts and ideas as you brainstorm. I want to use it to imagine a future where the built environment incorporates more of the unknown. To me, this means generating images that are contextually familiar- but take a lot of focus to figure out whats actually going on in the image. Something that could almost be real- but doesnt quite make sense. Just a little more tame than surrealism. I am very intrigued by architecture, the built environment and human interaction with these designs. I want to experiment with how irregularity, curiosity, and even confusion can be incorporated into some of the mundane repetitive moments in life.
